I'm a sucker for recycling items, especially when it has to do with closet organization and after I kept eyeing this black filing cabinet in our garage every time we came home, The light bulb finally turned on in my head and I thought..."This could work as additional storage in my closet" BUT I needed to oomph it up a bit. So here's what I did:
You'll need painters tape, Spray Paint & a decent file cabinet. (TIP: check out your local Thrift store for a used file cabinet, you're gonna paint it, so you don't need to spend on a new one.) |
I used the tape to create stripes all around my file cabinet, then I proceeded to spray paint the un-taped
area.
Once the cabinet was dry, I stored my clutches on the bottom two drawers and I also have a pretty large collection of belts, so I thought adding a couple of sock or lingerie drawer organizers that I found at Homegoods for $4.99 would work perfectly to store my belt collection, see for yourself!
I placed it sideways in my closet because I liked the look better, also you can use the tag holders on each drawer and label your drawers too, or you can use magnets to hang inspired looks or personal pics, the possibilities are truly endless when you let your creativity juices flowing! I really loved the end result and hoped to have inspired you through this post! Thanks for keeping up with me, XO.
